Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) 2021/22

The 8th round of HKUST Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU) 2021/22 is now calling for application. A total 8 million of funding will be offered to technology start-ups formed by HKUST members (Students, Faculty and Alumni).

Call for Application

Eligibility:

• A company registered under the Companies Ordinance for not more than two years as of the cut-off date: 1 February 2021;  
• The company team should consist of any mix of HKUST students, alumni, and/or professors; and
• The team is required to appoint a person-in-charge (PIC), who should be a member of the University and be responsible for overseeing the operations of the start-up, and liaising with the University on TSSSU related matters; and he/she should hold a senior position in the start-up and can be reached by the University during normal business hours

Assessment Criteria:

• Innovation and Technology Content of the Business;
• Capability of the Technology Start-up and its Team Composition to Undertake the R&D Work and Manage the Company;
• Commercial Viability and the Business and Technology Barrier;
• Social and/or Community Impact of the Technology Start-up’s Business and R&D Work; and
• Business Plan Write–up / Completeness

Application Deadline: 28 October 2020

• The completed application package should be submitted on or before application deadline by Soft Copy to: tsssu@ust.hk
